How do I get my listing to the top of Google? Part Two!
First and foremost in any venture you will undertake you must be committed. Before you start you need to have a talk with yourself and ask yourself, “What do I really want from my website”? If your answer is anything less than, “My website is an optimized marketing machine for my law firm”, then your commitment will not last. Highly profitable law firms recognize that without clients there is no profitability. In fact without clients there is no law firm! So take this venture seriously and put the time and resources into your website.
Getting your website to the top of the Google and other search engines takes a culmination of tactics. There is not one single aspect that will assure you of attaining the “champions position”. The first thing you want to do is build a site that is SEO friendly, it must answer your potential clients search query immediately and have a prominent call to action.
There are three basic types of searchers on the web:
1) Transactional, these searchers are looking to buy and typically buy now! Be found, answer their need and allow them to act. Anything other than that is a waste of time and money.
2) Navigational, these searchers are typically looking for you specifically. This is a great reason to “Brand” your law firm in other words people look to you first!
3) Informational, These searchers are information gathers. They may or may not be looking to retain your services.
Highly profitable law firms focus on the transactional searchers, build their “Brand” and offer everyone a slew of pertinent information. Their websites however address the transactional process. They keep it easily navigational, pleasant to the eye, simple, with multiple “calls to action”.
