Drumming up Business
Of course you have heard the phrase, “drumming up business”. Dictionary.com defines “drum up”
a. to call or summon by, or as if by, beating a drum.
b. to obtain or create (customers, trade, interest, etc.) through vigorous effort: They were unable to drum up enthusiasm for the new policies.
c. to concoct; devise: to drum up new methods of dealing with urban crime.
—Idiom; beat the drum, to promote, publicize, or advertise: The boss is out beating the drum for a new product.
Why in the world would anyone want to drum up business? Simply put no business, no law firm. Teams that build highly profitable law firms recognize the need to “drum up business”. Drumming up clients will result in a successful and highly profitable law firm. The key is recognizing the feeling of success. Everyone with the credentials to own and operate a law firm has experienced some semblance of success. When you recognize the feeling of success it drives you to take the action necessary that allows your law firm to grow exponentially.
How do you drum up clients? First expect success. Successful people expect to be successful. Position yourself and firm for success, expect it! The key to your ultimate success lies not within the clients you currently have today, it lies in your next clients. However your current clients will lead you to your new clients. Keep your current clients happy and you in return will attract new clients to your firm.
