Every year I really enjoy attending the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, which presents paintings, sculptures, and other artwork from artists around the world.
While attending the festival this February, I noticed that the tickets the organizers sold had holograms printed on them (see picture, above). This small security printing feature makes it very difficult for someone who wants to sell counterfeit tickets.
There are college football events that do not even have this feature. Why they don’t is beyond me. The cost is minimal and certainly pays dividends for any group organizing large events like this one.
Without this simple and effective feature, anyone with a simple inkjet printer could print a ticket.
The hologram is a simple overt security feature that allows an untrained eye to quickly glance at the ticket and instantly recognize whether it is genuine or not.
