Texas Chapter Launched by Legal Marketing Association
January 3, 2012
A formal launch of a Texas Chapter was made by Legal Marketing Association, a leading professional organization serving business development and marketing professionals in the legal industry. This will be effective starting January 1, 2012. The organization has approximately 3,000 members located in 48 states in the United States, Canada and 15 other countries.
Before, the members in Texas were part of the Southeastern Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association, which served around more than 400 members located in 18 city groups that cover 10 states. The new chapter will have 100+ members and the groups in Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
According to the LMA’s 2011 President, Jeanne Hammerstrom, “Texas is home to the second-largest economy in the U.S. and the 15th-largest in the world, making it a prime location for businesses and the law firms that serve them.” She also added that, “Nearly all of the Am Law 200 have offices in or serve clients in Texas, and many more small and midsize firms serve local, national and international clients from a Texas base. Given the position of Texas in the legal arena, the LMA Texas Chapter will serve as a vital resource for professionals involved in legal marketing in the state.”
Michael Webb, the President of the Texas Chapter said that, “We are excited that, in the Texas Chapter’s inaugural year, Texas will be the host state of the 2012 Legal Marketing Association Annual Conference.” He further added that, “The conference brings together legal marketing and business development professionals from the U.S. and other countries, and is a perfect opportunity to provide some true Texas hospitality.”
